Welcome to Des Alpes where homemade food, great value and attentive service is just the beginning. We believe in creating unique tasting experiences in a relaxing enviroment.
For 23 years, Blackwood street has been home to Des Alpes. Monika and Nick invite you to embark on a journey to discover Switzerland and its many taste sensations. Swiss food is regional and seasonal, influenced by surrounding countries like Germany, France, Italy and the Mediterranean.
CAFE BY DAY, RESTAURANT BY NIGHT, we believe in creating unique dining experiences in an environment that is perfect for family meals or functions, birthday and anniversary celebrations or simply somewhere nice to eat! We show our passion for food in little details, like warming up plates for serving our Swiss style Rösti potatoes.

Here at Des Alpes we showcase the best that Swiss cuisine has to offer with dishes like Fondue, Rösti Potato and Swiss Chocolate mousse. Our dishes are rich with flavour, made with humble ingredients and a loving touch.
But here's the twist, Swiss food bears witness to many regional influences, including French, German and Italian cuisine. We incorporate these European flavours into our menu to give a truly varied and unique dining experience.
Swiss style Rösti potatoes are so versatile and delicious we are preparing them for the Swiss breakfast, Rösti Pizza for lunch and for the more traditional Dinner accompaniment
We believe everyone should be able to enjoy the taste sensations of Switzerland. We ensure that all special diets are catered for, including Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian and Kids.
We take great pride and effort providing delicious meals and this also applies to our coffees and teas. To provide the best quality coffee we use locally roasted, organic Artisan, direct trade. We are open from 7.30 am Tuesdays to Fridays and from 7am over the weekend and Farmer's market ( 1st Sunday every month) so come in and escape the daily grind! and to compliment that perfect cup of coffee we have cakes, truffles and lots of yummie treats available from our display cabinet. On week-ends you can sit in our secret garden and totally relax!
Here at Des Alpes we are very proud to offer our customers a distinctively unique Swiss experience. Having been the only Swiss restaurant in Brisbane for over 23 years, we feel privileged to open up our doors and invite people to share in the Swiss cuisine and culture.
You'll find that we have a unique way of doing things here at Des Alpes. A mix of the old and the new, traditional and the quirky, we believe the little touches are just as important as the whole and this is what sets us apart.
Cheese, meat, chocolate or all three combined for our popular fondue party, which is a great experience and a very relaxing, social way to enjoy exquisite food! Meat fondue requires half day prior notice.
